Fujian is blessed with a rich history and beautiful natural landscapes, which make it a unique tourist attraction. With year-round warm weather and a humid climate, Fujian is hospitable for travelers in all seasons. However, it is not yet a popular spot on many visitors' itineraries.

    Day 1: Pingtan Island (平潭岛) Floating on the East China Sea, Pingtan Island enjoys a growing reputation as a rustic getaway with scenic spots and savory local seafood dishes. It is China's fifth largest island and is also Mainland China's closest point to Taiwan.Transport: Arrive in Fuzhou City by plane, train or car first, and then take a coach from Fuzhou Passenger Station to Pingtan.     Day 2: Baishuiyang (白水洋) The Baishuiyang bedrock flat riverbed is a scenic spot where visitors can admire a unique form of erosion and a rarely-seen natural shallow water square. The riverbed is made of a single flat rock and is smooth without any pebbles.     Day 3: Xiapu (霞浦) Known as China's most charming fishing village, Xiapu is located in northeast Fujian province. Along its tiger-striped beaches, bamboo structures and poles, buoys and fishing vessels provide human counterpoints to the area's natural beauty.     Day 4: Taimu Mountain (太姥山) Bordered by views of the East China Sea on three sides, Taimu Mountain is endowed with beautiful natural scenery, with steep peaks clustered together and spectacular rocks towering high. Transport: Taimu Mountain is accessible by train from Fuzhou, Xiamen, Hangzhou and Shanghai and also by coach from Ningde City and Fuding City.     Day 5: Wuyi Mountain (武夷山) Dubbed a "Natural Arboretum," Wuyi Mountain is noted for its natural conservation of a large number of ancient plant species and wild animals, many of which are found only in China. The area became a UNESCO natural and cultural World Heritage Site in 1999. Transport: Wuyishan City is connected to many major airports in China. It is also convenient to get there by train or long-distance bus. Ticket prices: 140 yuan (one-day entrance); 150 yuan (two-day entrance); 160 yuan (three-day entrance) Tip: Visitors can enter the designated attractions without time limits over three days with a three-day entrance ticket.     Day 6: Taining Geopark (泰宁地质公园) Located in Taining County in northwestern Fujian province, Taining Geopark is home to geological formations called Danxia landforms. The area is characterized by granite mountains, dense forests, winding rivers, waterfalls and historic culture. Transport: The most immediate way to go to Taining is by road. You also can take a train to the nearby cities of Shaowu or Sanming and then transfer to a bus.     Day 7: Tulou (土楼) The Fujian tulou, located in a mountainous area of the province, are the largest unique residential buildings in the world. The structures are constructed of rammed earth and their origins can be traced back nearly 1,000 years. They allow large clans based on blood ties to live together as a big family and collectively defend against attacks from outsiders.
