Haitan Ancient Town has attracted tourists from near and far every day. What is it that is so appealing about this place? Today on our TV program Read the Beauty of Pingtan, we will bring you together with us back to an ancient world through time and space.

Buildings in Haitan Ancient Town mainly features classical Chinese architectures, especially characterized not only by the oriental courtyards in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, but also by a combined architectural forms of both the south and north of ancient China. These buildings presents not only the traditional elements of ancient towns but also a new image of Pingtan City.

More, a unique block with peculiar cultures from across the Taiwan Straits was built here, containing Pingtan Street, Taiwan Street, Yese Street, Praying Tower and Sightseeing Sea Tower. The cultural block not only exhibits the ethnic cultures of Taiwan, but also replicates the scenes of Pingtan's ancient streets.

Pingtan Ancient Town is spectacular in many ways as it allows us to trail on the traces of the 1960s, reminisce on the good old days of the retro 70s and 80s and still look on the modernized 1990s with pride and respect.
