2nd Cross-Straits Guoxue Forum to open in Pingtan
Pingtan Net | Updated:2019-05-20The 2nd Cross-Straits Guoxue Forum will lift its curtain on May 24 in Pingtan, Chinese mainland’s closest neighbor of Taiwan. Guoxue refers to the study of traditional Chinese thought and culture.
More than 30 well-known scholars from across the Taiwan Straits are expected to weigh in on Guoxue and several of them will deliver keynote speeches on the forum.
Over and above the forum, an array of activities such as an academic symposium on Guoxue, bringing Guoxue into campuses and villages,a Guoxue study camp, and making and displaying of exquisite handicrafts will be held.
The two-day forum is sponsored by the Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone and hosted by the Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue.
The Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue plans to sign strategic alliance agreements with 5 famous institutions of Guoxue learning including Center of Buddhist Studies of Peking University, Buddhist College of Minnan, Yuanheng Academy from Taiwan, Yuelu Academy and Mengzi Academy during the forum.
An original Guoxue vlog competition will take place alongside the forum, scheduled to run until June, 24. When the traditional Chinese culture meets modern media, what kind of charms will they bring? Stay tuned.
