Exploring Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue in Pingtan

The 2nd Cross-Straits Guoxue Forum is set to kick off on May 24 when more than 30 well-known scholars from across the Taiwan Straits are expected to weigh in on Guoxue and several of them will deliver keynote speeches at the Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue based in Pingtan, Chinese mainland's closest neighbor of Taiwan. Let’s go and explore the Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue.

Launched on April 23, 2018, the Center has been providing a platform for dissemination of the traditional Chinese culture, through monthly lectures given by guest speakers who are masters in their fields. So far, the Center has hosted 10 Guoxue lectures which command a strong online viewership of 100 million. The lectures are mainly conducted at the lecture hall of the Center located at Block 34, Taiwan Entrepreneurial Park.


 Craft Gallery

The gallery displays various artworks crafted by artists from across the Straits. Umbrella lanterns from Taiwan, Pingtan’s sand paintings, and other handicrafts made of driftwood catch the attention of visitors upon entry. Not only that, visitors can try their hand at DIYs.


Chinese Art Pavilion

A sizable stage has been set inside  with eighteen traditional weapons standing on both sides.

Masters of Chinese operas and tai chi are invited from time to time to give classes to Guoxue lovers.


Digital Guoxue Experience Hall

The experience hall is made up of hi-tech learning gadgets." Here visitors can fully immerse themselves in a unique cultural experience like learning from Confucius through Augmented Reality (AR) technology, attending virtual classes on the "Six Arts" (comprising of 6 disciplines of rites, music, archery, charioteering, literacy, and numeracy) through Virtual Reality (VR), trying on beautiful Han Chinese clothing and even practicing tai chi through a kinectic sensor screen.


Guoxue Classes

It is never too early to start learning Guoxue. Teachers from Taiwan come here to give lessons every Thursday evening. Parents nearby always bring their kids to receive the knowledge, get inspired together in the profound ancient wisdom and bond with their children in the learning process.
