A prep seminar for the Research Base for Fine Traditional Chinese Culture took place on August 14 at the Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue in Pingtan, mainland’s closest neighbor of Taiwan. The seminar is jointly organized by the Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone and the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences .

Centering on the theme of "Inheritance and Innovation of Cross-Straits Guoxue in the New Era", the seminar aims to probe into issues related to the construction of the Research Base for Fine Traditional Chinese Culture. At the seminar, well-known Chinese scholars across the Taiwan Straits offered their suggestions.

Sources reported that the research base aspires to become an elite cross-Straits research institution for Guoxue and idea bank, inherit and also promote fine traditional Chinese culture.
