Then and Now: A Decade of Urban Transformation
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2020-10-12Years passed and cities changed. The amazing transformation of a city in metamorphosis is captured under the camera lens. We have seen this city in hibernation and evolution. Pingtan will be great…
Pingtan is developing by leaps and bounds during the past 10 years. Dirt roads were replaced by tarred roads; roadside bricks-and-mortars turned into commercial complexes and trans-ocean bridges were substituted for ferries.
Urbanization is the epitome of Pingtan’s rise, compiling all kinds of features at this age.
With the inauguration of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Pingtan is devoted to raising its status as an international tourism island. As a result, the island underwent massive urbanization and many shabby buildings were demolished and new infrastructures were built.
And now, the highway section of Pingtan Strait Rail-road Bridge has finally started trial operation. Meanwhile, the railway is going through a joint test... Currently, it is China’s first and also the world’s longest cross-sea rail-road bridge.
A decade ago, we had a ferry and a dream; a dream to venture out and share our culture with the world. A decade after, we have the world’s longest trans-ocean rail-road bridge-a bridge to bridged us closer to that same dream.
