Professor Xu defined that Guoxue is the forepassed learning of the Chinese nation, in short, the traditional Chinese culture.

Professor Xu believed that the virtues of traditional Chinese culture have a major impact on our daily lives. Traditional Chinese culture is a philosophy that focuses on nature and temperament and the exploration of the humanistic spirit. The reason that makes a man  man is conscience, an innate morality that gives rise to the code of ethics that only humans possess.

He Yichen, a pupil from a local school became the youngest audience on the spot to engage in a follow-up Q&A session. She grows up under the nurture of the Chinese classics. Not only did she study "The Analects" in school, but also read the classics with her parents after homework.

Professor Xu praised the efforts of the Cross-Straits Guoxue Center in the exploration of traditional cultural exchanges across the Taiwan Straits. “The center should work harder to embed Guoxue in the younger generation and in the hearts of the people.”

Guoxue is loosely defined as the study of ancient Chinese civilization-specifically, such realms as history, literature and art.

The 25th Cross-Straits Guoxue Lecture was hosted by the Media Center of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, organized by the Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue, and co-organized by the Pingtan Branch of Fujian Broadcast Television Network Group.
