Entrepreneur brings curling home

Curling, dubbed “chess on ice”, is a Winter Olympic Games event. People usually pays attention to the curling competition on a rink rather than the ice sheet. The WaJuFo Ice is made of a liquid substance that is able to freeze at normal temperature, which is the signature product of WaJuFo Sports led by president Chen Xiaolan who originates from Pingtan, an island city off E China’s Fujian province.

WaJoFu Ice-Snow Technology is a subsidiary of Wajufo (Fujian) Group Co. It engages in research and development, production, sales and service of materials and equipment related to ice and snowfields. The company is also involved in the fields of technology research and development of sports products, production of sports venue materials, marketing, venue operations, and event planning.

When it comes to the reason for returning home to develop, Chen said she has a special affection for Pingtan. “We are over the moon to have witnessed tremendous progress made in Pingtan.” Chen said that Pingtan is striving to build itself into an international tourism island. The endeavor includes the development of the sports industry. As a native of Pingtan, it is incumbent on herself to contribute.

Chen noted that Pingtan enjoys advantages of geographical location and unparalleled incentives. She plans to build a stadium to promote ice sports in Pingtan.

In 2018, WaJuFo (Fujian) Group Co in partnership with the research team of the Malaya University successfully developed the "Wanjufu Ice" so that ice sports are no longer restricted by time, space and climate. In recent years, Wanjufu (Fujian) Group Co has been gradually promoting their “magic ice” to the world.

“I have felt the warmth of home since the company’s registration.” Speaking of the company’s landing in Pingtan, the meticulous service offered by local authorities impressed Chen.
