Pingtan Internet Hospital, the first of its kind in Pingtan, East China’s Fujian province made a debut at the first China International Digital Expo held from April 25-27 in Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian.

The hospital mainly engages in online medical services through new technologies such as 5G communications, artificial intelligence, and consolidation of big data in medical and healthcare.

The hospital plans to invite high-calibre practitioners and health management models from Taiwan so that patients can receive top-notch healthcare in Pingtan.

As a crucial window for cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan and China's opening up to the outside world, Pingtan strives to promote integration across the Straits. The Internet hospital and the integration of the island's excellent tourism resources might be a catalyst to establish a health tourism industry in Pingtan. By borrowing medical expertise from Taiwan, Pingtan will be able to realize a greater vision- building an extensive network of healthcare systems and industry.

Currently, two specialized hospitals for tumor treatment and rehab, two training bases for healthcare education, eldercare, and three international physical test labs, a development, and promotion center for traditional Chinese medicine, and an R&D center for pharmaceutical products are in the pipeline.
