Beigang Village of Pingtan, E China’s Fujian province was declared a geological cultural village in China. The Geological Society of China released the first batch of geological cultural villages and towns across China on its official website on May 25.
Located in the northeast of Pingtan, the village nestles snugly between a mountain and the sea. Untouched simplicity looms in Beigang, giving the village typical qualities of Pingtan's stone settlements. The blue, gray stone dwellings with neatly arranged but mottled tiles on the roof give off a unworldly aura. Coupled with turquoise water, it resembles a simple and elegant ink painting.
