Sunny Sisters trailer
Theatrical film Sunny Sisters, which was shot at Taiwan Film and Television Base in Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan, was released on June 11.
In recent years, Pingtan has become a popular location for many film and television dramas. Taiwan Film and Television Base takes advantage of Pingtan’s geographical proximity to Taiwan and shared origin of cross-Straits cultures. The base is completely restored and constructed in accordance with the Old Street of Ximending, Taipei. Replicated military dependants’ village and international streets are also built in the complex. Featuring the charms of Taiwan, it is the first location of its kind on the Chinese mainland, recreating a realistic environment of yesteryear.
Sunny Sisters also brings us back to the 1990s. Hidden in the nostalgic scenes, you will be able to find faint traces of the Taiwan Film and Television Base.
Apart from Sunny Sisters, what other TV dramas and films have been shot in the base in recent years? Let's catch a glimpse of them.
