"Without age limit, it bailed us out of urgency with tremendous convenience.” Recently, Liu Yicheng, who obtained a loan through the program "Flash Loan for Credible Taiwan Compatriots", said that after enjoying the financial discount, the actual loan interest rate is 2.5% (simple interest), preferential.

The program is targeted at Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan-funded startups in Pingtan that’s the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan. Pingtan’s financial authorities injected 3 million yuan in the first phase of the program, of which 1.7 million yuan was granted.

Xinping Financing Assurance Co., Ltd. is the only policy-based guarantee company in Pingtan. In the program, Xinping Guarantee provides guarantee services for Taiwan compatriots for free. "Local financial authorities established a loan risk-sharing fund pool, which reassures us to offer service," said You Liqin, assistant general manager of Xinping Guarantee.

"Pingtan has not only initiated bills of credit for Taiwan compatriots, the first move on the mainland, but also provided subsidies in hard cash,” said a relevant person in charge of the Financial Bureau of Pingtan.

In recent years , Pingtan has made great efforts in promoting financial exchanges across the Taiwan Straits. Up to now, 72 bills of credit have been issued for Taiwan compatriots, with a cumulative credit amount of more than 25 million yuan.

Pingtan has also taken steps in financial experimentation and innovation. It has been piloting the Qualified Foreign Limited Partner (QFLP) and enhancing the development of the Straits Equity Exchange Center in a bid to improve the financial service for compatriots and enterprises from Taiwan.

Next up, Pingtan will continue working on its pro-Taiwan policy and take various measures to create a homey environment for Taiwan compatriots.
