Fishing moratorium ends in Pingtan

331 fishing boats competed for off-shore operations after lifting the three-and-a-half-month fishing ban on August 16 in Pingtan, an island city off East China’s Fujian province.
The East China Sea is the fishing ground for local fishermen. The catch generally includes hairtail, pomfret, squid, red shrimp, and white silk shrimp.
Light luring seine vessels are expected to return in one or two months, while stow boats will be back in a couple of days. By then, fall's first seafood spread shall be served on the dinner table.
