Livestreamers hail training courses on doorstep

The first training session for online streamers concluded on August 13 at Taiwan Entrepreneurial Park of Pingtan, Chinese mainland’s closest neighbor of Taiwan.


The course was carried out through theoretical explanations and practical exercises. “It benefited us a lot,” exclaimed the trainees who are about to sign a contract to embark on commercial livestreaming.


Chen Mingfang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Pingtan Federation of Industry and Commerce, is interested in the e-commerce industry, and she also participated in this training. Though Chen is a newbie, nevertheless in 3 days, she can run a livestream with confidence. "I've never watched Douyin before. Yet, now I'm livestreaming on my phone like a pro-livestreamer. This course is rewarding," said Chen Mingfang.


Since 2020, the livestreaming industry has been booming. Chen Cheng, head of Mihoutao (Pingtan) E-commerce Co., Ltd., set up a livestreaming company. He said the country is exploring the development of livestreaming economy, and he is eager to seize the opportunity. "From the livestreamer training to the negotiation of livestreaming cooperation, we currently emphasizes nurturing well-trained livestreamers. So we’ll certainly keep these training courses rolling,” said Chen Cheng.


Pingtan's cross-border e-commerce industry matures with its ever-expanding trade volume. The development of the livestreaming economy is conducive to driving featured industries such as cross-border e-commerce, trade with Taiwan, construction of an international tourism island, and headquarters platform economy in Pingtan.


“The Covid-19 pandemic gave birth to commercial livestreaming. There are a variety of imported goods in the bonded warehouses of Pingtan Free Trade Zone. What we need now is livestreamers.” Yang Jitao, deputy manager of the marketing department of Fujian Cross-border E-Commerce Co., Ltd., noted that next, the company will strive to enable livestreaming to empower Pingtan’s cross-border e-commerce industry.
