Broken Star Films is among the first enterprises beckoned by Pingtan’s film and television industry. After landing in Pingtan, they worked with a production company from Europe to make the film.

Wang Zhongqiang, a local filmmaker and co-producer of the film, said that as the first film jointly produced by China and Serbia, it has become a pioneer in cultural exchanges between the two countries. When it was being shot in Serbia, it received substantial support. Pingtan, as a rising international tourism island in China, also extended its reach to the country.
