On Sept.17, Pingtan Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue based in Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan, invited Jeu-Jeng Yuann, a professor of the Department of Philosophy, Taiwan University to give a lecture, attracting over 4.6 million netizens online.

Professor Yuann revealed the important role of Chinese culture in the ongoing pandemic prevention. He believes that China can bring life back on track in a short period of time thanks to China's political system where the people and the government join hands to contain the virus.

“The lecture is rewarding,” said Ms. Du from Taiwan who is working in Pingtan now.

It has been the 38th Guoxue session for the monthly activity so far. The Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue invites scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Straits to hold Guoxue lectures and seminar regularly, which have formed a wide range of influences among the cultural circles and students on both sides of the Straits.
