MOT launches first direct container liner route to the island of Taiwan from Pingtan as home port
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2021-11-26Container ship "Lufeng" set off from Pingtan to the island of Taiwan On November 25, marking the official launch of the country’s first direct container liner route with Pingtan, Chinese mainland’s closest place of the island of Taiwan, as the home port to the island of Taiwan. The route was approved by China’s Ministry of Transport(MOT).
The addition of "Lufeng" shall bring the frequency of Taiwan-bound shipments up to five trips per week. It only takes one and a half days for the goods from the warehouse in Pingtan to customs clearance in Taiwan, which is comparable to the efficiency of air transportation. The move lays a good foundation for Pingtan to build the country's largest distribution center for Taiwan.
