Pingtan Min Opera Troupe (its predecessor“Qian Shao Min Opera Troupe) was founded in 1943.From 1952 to 1995, thetroupe performed 74 modern plays and 151 traditional plays, participated in 19 provincial, municipal, and regional performances, and created and adapted 52 plays."Dream of the Han Palace"set a precedent for Pingtan's new historical drama. "Swan Banquet" received the National Wenhua Award, the Cao Yu Drama Award, and "Tian Han Drama Award.
