Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan, signed an agreement with iFLYTEK, a leading technology company in China on Dec. 11. 

Lai Jun, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, and Liu Qingfeng, founder and chairman of iFlytek, witnessed the signing ceremony.

Lai noted that Pingtan, as the only comprehensive pilot zone for cross-Straits integration on the mainland, plays a trailblazing role in experimenting with reform and innovation and opening up and collaboration. iFlytek is a domestic tech corp known for intel voice technology and AI services. The cooperation with Pingtan yields immense potentials. 

Liu Qingfeng introduced the application scenarios of iFLYTEK's artificial intelligence. He said that Pingtan shoulders a national strategic mission and is a favored spot for reform and innovation. Efforts are directed to foster smart education, smart healthcare, a futuristic smart city in Pingtan and deepen cooperation with Pingtan in the field of artificial intelligence to promote the high-quality development of Pingtan in an all-round way.
