The RCCK will support Pingtan's endeavors, notably in cross-Straits integration and development, and the ongoing effort of hatching the ideal "first stop" for Taiwan businesses and compatriots on the mainland. The party also expressed that it will continue to vouch for the peaceful reunification and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Guo Ningning called on more compatriots from Taiwan to join in the exchanges and cooperation, and promote the deeper integration of the economy, culture, and society between Fujian and Taiwan.
Wu Cheng-tien, chairman of Taiwan's New Party, addressed that the theme of the forum "Good Life, Good Future" made it clear that Pingtan’s vision is to build a common homeland for compatriots on both sides of the Straits. Over the years, despite the ongoing pandemic, personnel and goods exchanges continue to deepen across the Straits.
The mainland has an enormous market. Pingtan boasts the advantages of geographical proximity, close kinship, and extensive business network with Taiwan. “I hope that businesspeople and residents from Taiwan can seize the opportunity to integrate into the mainland and promote peaceful national reunification.
Wang Jie pointed out that creating a "common homeland across the Straits" requires people on both sides of the Straits to work together. Cross-Straits compatriots shall jointly carry forward the excellent Chinese culture and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of the culture in the contemporary era. “Compatriots across the Straits shall jointly shoulder a historical mission to the peaceful reunification and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”
Li Zhenghong argued that the unique geographical location closely connects Pingtan and Taiwan. In recent years, boosted by favorable policies and the joint efforts of compatriots on both sides of the Strait, Pingtan has been making impressive progress in building the common homeland.
Lai Jun said since the first common homeland forum started a decade back, Pingtan has gained a lot- visions achieved, voices heard, dreams made, but above all, cross-Straits exchanges have deepened. Pingtan welcomes more Taiwan compatriots to participate in the construction of Pingtan, and join hands to build their homeland and future.
At the opening ceremony, representatives of compatriots and enterprises from Taiwan also gave keynote speeches on trading, entrepreneurship, shared origin, and grassroots governance.
