Film shot in Pingtan wins two awards
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2021-12-17On December 12, the 8th Silk Road International Film Festival closed in Fuzhou. The film "Island Keeper" shot in Pingtan won the "Golden Silk Road Award" for Best Actor (Liu Ye) and Best Actress (Gong Zhe).
The film is adapted from a true story of Wang Jicai and his wife who stayed on the border island Kaishan in E China’s Jiangsu province for 32 years guarding the island and the country.
More than 90 percent of the film was shot in Pingtan. Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan, is en route to becoming a film and television base of repute.
