Turnover RMB 140MM | New breakthroughs in IC industry of Pingtan

"The integrated circuit IC industrial chain, including design, packaging, and testing, has taken initial shape, with an output value exceeding 100 million yuan.”Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan, announced in an economic work conference on Dec. 23 that the IC industry in Pingtan has achieved a turnover of 140 million yuan.

"Our company has been in Pingtan for two years." Yang Shibin, general manager of Kaiqiang Technology (Pingtan) Co., Ltd., told reporters that the company's turnover in 2021 is expected to  reach 13 million yuan, and the business is expanding. "We aim for 30 million yuan in turnover next year.”

Kaiqiang Technology is a business partner of the Taiwan-funded Zongren Technology (Pingtan) Co., Ltd.

Chen Mengbang, chairman of Zongren Technology,has always been a matchmaker for the IC industry in Pingtan, beckoning relevant upstream and downstream enterprises into Pingtan so as to form an industrial chain. “We are optimistic about the favorable policies of Pingtan and enormous market on the mainland. There are currently 7 integrated circuit-related enterprises in Pingtan.

From scratch to 100 million mark, behind the growth is the advancement of Pingtan’s industrial layout bolstered by proactive business promotion and the rollout of unparalleled incentives, including R&D subsidies and employment allowance for fresh graduates.

“Pingtan is making efforts to build up its digital economy highlighting the IC industry,”said an official from the Economic Development Bureau of Pingtan.
