The Cross-Straits Classic Concert was held on the evening of Dec. 30, in Pingtan, an island that’s the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan.

An orchestra composed of dozens of eminent performers led by Taiwanese musician Yang Mu, and vocalists from across the Straits livened the island. 

The event is part of the 8th Fujian Art Festival, fueling Pingtan’s endeavor to build the Happy Island of Music and Art.

Pingtan will be building a grand theater, a music industry park, a cultural and creative base for music, a music salon, a music town, a music art village, an art gallery, and a music block.
