The well-preserved Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) structures have long fascinated locals and tourists alike with their archaic charm. Thus, local authorities have capitalized on this popularity and re-vamped the village into a base for the cultural and creative industry.Renowned artists from China and abroad have set up their own studios there.

Beigang Village is also home to a handful of stone folk dwellings which have been renovated on the inside to become unique homestays for tourists.
