Taiwan-funded orchard ushers in a bumper harvest in Pingtan

Hongwei Mintai U-Pick Farm in Hongwei Village of Pingtan, welcomed tourists to celebrate the fun of picking and tasting the fruit of labor as the farm ushered in a bumper harvest for its cherry tomatoes on January 8.

The orchard is run by Taiwan-funded enterprise Pingtan Hongwei Smart Eco-Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. Established in 2020, the company is engaged in fruit planting, greenhouse cultivation, rural tourism development, and premium Taiwan-imported fruit planting. “We are drawing on Taiwan’s advanced technology and experience to build green and eco-friendly agriculture,”said Wu Wenyi, general manager of the company.

In recent years, Hongwei Village hasbeencommitted to building a model village that thrives on ecotourism and cross-Straits agricultural tourism.
