Pingtan has welcomed more than 100 thousand tourists and raked in a whopping 77.16 million yuan of tourism income over the Spring Festival break.

Pingtan has stepped up efforts during the holiday to ensure safety measures were in place at major attraction sites. Entrance tickets were slashed at half to attract more tourists at Pingtan's 68-nautical-mile, Celestial Well, and Mount General. Combo-package for attractions was promoted to boost local tourism over the long holiday.

A series of cultural activities themed " Welcome the Year of the Tiger and Happiness Befalls Pingtan," was organized to add a dose of festivity and flavor to the celebration in Pingtan. Among some of the activities held during the period include a Chinoiserie wind gala, an intangible cultural heritage exhibition, free movie screening, etc.

A plethora of fun family-oriented activities, jogathons, and martial art performances also took place to cater to wider members of the public and create a festive ambiance.
