2022 Pingtan Tunnel Machinery Industry Expo and Tunnel Industry Development Forum kicked off at Pingtan's Ocean International Convention and Exhibition Center on Feb 6, 2022. Reputed as the "hometown of tunnels," Pingtan island, the closest mainland place to Taiwan, has held close to 5 construction machinery and equipment exhibitions since 2016.

Wang Jinhu, head of Shaanxi Xinyeda Machinery Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. said that Pingtan is a leader in the domestic tunnel industry and a major contributor to the industry's field of expertise. "This is our second year here. The purpose of participating in the exhibition is to open up sales and promote our company brand," Wang Jinhu said.

Within an hour, a company at the exhibition site has already sold 8 fans. "The fan we sell is mainly used in tunnels, which can remove dust in the tunnel at high speed." Li Jingzhe, the assistant to the chairman of Shanxi An Yun Fan Co., Ltd. introduced that although this is the first time to participate in the exhibition this year, he is very optimistic about Pingtan’s market, and he will come to the exhibition again next year.

The spotlight also goes to industry practitioners who have returned to Pingtan for the Chinese New Year. Many of them came to choose tunnel machinery products. Chen Xue, a Pingtan entrepreneur, who has been engaged in the roadbed industry for more than 10 years, said that these equipment were only available outside the province before. The exhibition has made procurement so much easier.

As a well-known "hometown of tunnels" in China, Pingtan has made the development of the tunnel industry a priority in recent years. Various preferential policies have been issued to attract and support the development of the tunnel industry. Transformations have been made to complete the industrial chain. For example, labor-oriented low-qualified enterprises have transformed into comprehensive high-qualified enterprises. Traditional family-style management has also transformed into modern management.

"We plan to use the platform to invite more tunnel machinery manufacturers to settle in the Pingtan Park." Xu Wangfu,chairman of the Pingtan Yutongda Technology Development Co., Ltd. said that they will continue to build an authoritative and influential platform that encompasses release promotion, demonstration experience, and trading cooperation for construction machinery enterprises.
