Loads of commodities such as yellow croaker, frozen abalone, and LCD panels have been transported to Pingtan Port and shipped to Taiwan by the “Taipei Express” container ship. Pingtan is the closest place on the Chinese mainland to the island of Taiwan.

According to Chen Qiaoyun, manager of the customs declaration department of Pingtan Ocean Shipping Agency Co., Ltd., the company has been receiving orders after the Spring Festival holiday. "Taipei Express" launched the first shipping from Pingtan to Taipei on February 8.

Pingtan has launched an array of measures to consolidate the growth momentum of foreign trade, such as stepping up the construction of cross-border distribution center warehouses. Meanwhile, policies pertaining to the logistics and trade industry continue to be revised and improved. Incentives granted by provincial authorities will be awarded to enterprises that play a key role in trade development. Pingtan goes on with the implementation of facilitated customs clearance measures.
