Booming business for winter sports tech company in Pingtan
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2022-02-17 | Lin Kongbo StephanieThe Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics set off a fever for winter sports and brought new business to enterprises. Soon after the Spring Festival holiday, Fujian Wanjufu Ice and Snow Sports Technology Co., settled in Pingtan, an island city off the coast of Fujian Province, has reportedly received orders worth 30 million yuan.
"We have launched curling venue projects across the country, with orders amounting to 30 million yuan. At present, the track orders are still growing," said Chen Xiaolan, executive director of the company. The projects mainly include sports projects added by schools and commercial ice skating rinks and curling tracks.
According to reports, bolstered by the Winter Olympics, doing winter sports has become a new fad in China. The liquid ice produced by the company can replace the real ice at room temperature so that winter sports are no longer exclusive to the northern high-altitude areas, which is conducive to the promotion of winter sports.
On the third day of the first lunar month, Wanjufu Ice and Snow Technology Co., Ltd. held the first curling games for families in Pingtan. “We rarely have the chance to experience winter sports. It’s so much fun,” said Lin Xuelong, a local citizen.
Wanjufu Ice and Snow Technology Co., Ltd. in Pingtan is a subsidiary of Wanjufu (Fujian) Group Co., Ltd. Pingtan branch is an innovative enterprise integrating R&D, production, sales and service of materials and equipment for ice-snow venues. The group has been involved in scientific research operations, stadium construction, sports events, and cultural and sports investment.
According to Chen Xiaolan, the company will push for the construction of ice and snow venues in Pingtan, allowing tourists to experience the sports and promote the development of sports tourism in Pingtan, which has been designated as the second international tourism island in China.
