"I have a house; it faces the sea and flowers bloom in spring warmth." If life is a poem, perhaps this is what most would envision themselves in. At least for Li Lin, life in Pingtan is a poem. Pingtan is an island located off southeast China's Fujian province. Blessed with azure skies, sun-kissed beaches, and romantic winding coastlines, Pingtan has brought "poetry" and the best of pastoral-living for Li. Li from Fuzhou runs an indigo dye workshop in a sea-view stone house in Pingtan. Traveling, going on adventures, and camping are his favorite pastimes. Recently, he transformed his antique minivan into a campervan. "I can start a trip anytime in Pingtan. Rolling down the window, I can enjoy the sea with spring blossoms," Li said with a smile.
