NPC deputy: Support Pingtan to accelerate the construction of an international tourism island
en.ptnet.cn | Updated:2022-03-14 | Lin Kongbo StephanieHuo Min, deputy to the National People's Congress, proposed that Pingtan be supported to speed up the construction of an international tourist island. He claimed that since the State Council approved the "Pingtan International Tourism Island Construction Plan", Pingtan as a rising international tourism island is making progress in full swing. However, the relevant policies have yet to be implemented, affecting the endeavor to some extent. To speed up the construction of an international tourist island, Huo Min put forward that, firstly, Pingtan be given a pilot policy for international cruise ships, supporting Chinese-funded cruise ships with flags of convenience to carry out offshore business, allowing Pingtan International Cruise to carry out domestic multi-point calling route operations, and supporting Pingtan to open a cruise route to Taiwan; secondly, it is advised that the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation refer to the policies of Hainan Province to grant Pingtan a duty-free policy for self-use production equipment related to the cultural and tourism industry imported from abroad.
