The Sea wraps up filming in Pingtan

Kara Wai visited a restaurant in Pingtan and sang praises for local foods like "Everlasting Dumpling" and "Fried Rice Noodle with Seafood" in her Vlog on Xiaohongshu, a Chinese social media platform. "Do come to Pingtan if you are on vacation," endorsed Kara Wai.
It is reported that The Sea was adapted from hit Korean tearjerker Canola. The film tells the story of a female diver who is reunited with her granddaughter after 12 years of separation.
Wai, a three-time recipient of the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actress, is one of Hong Kong's most celebrated actresses. In 2018, Wai was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administration Region for her stellar performances and contribution to Hong Kong's film industry.
Liu Hao Cun is an up-and-coming Chinese actress and dancer. She graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy. She's a rookie actress handpicked by the illustrious director, Zhang Yimou, making her acting debut in his 2020 film One Second. Therefore, she has been nicknamed as the new "Yimou girl", making the list among Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi, Ni Ni, and Zhou Dongyu.
