Pingtan to build cross-Straits film and television creative and cultural industry park

Pingtan signed a 150 million yuan Cross-Straits Film and Television Creative Cultural Park project on March 30. Pingtan, Chinese mainland's closest neighbor of Taiwan, has been ramping up its tourism infrastructures, corresponding to its rising tourism status.

By integrating film, tourism, and commerce as a whole, the complex will feature replicated sets for filmmakers, a murder mystery game base, locations for wedding shoots, live-stream studios, and a film and television carnival-themed park.

The project will be built based on Aoqian Taiwan-themed Town where it houses a popular duty-free market for Taiwan commodities and a commercial piazza offers different forms of entertainment and F&B outlets.

Pingtan has set an aim for the international tourism island China's cross-Straits film and television hub.
