Douyin celebrity and well-known travel blogger in China-Fang Qi, who has over 18 million followers on Douyin, posted a short video on Pingtan at 5 pm on May 8 after visiting the rising international tourism island in China. The video received over 700,000 likes in just 3 hours.

Fang’s viral videos feature therapeutic journeys and her touching copy.

Fang started her introduction to Pingtan with lines of subtle poetry: "This is an island 68 nautical miles away from the island of Taiwan, China; this is a place of romance, the playground of dreamlike ‘Sea Sparkles’; this is Pingtan Island, Fujian, a zealous island which would spend the summer waiting on you."

On the same day, Fang visited iconic scenic spots of the 68-Nautical-Mile Scenic Area, Around-the-Island Road, and Changjiang’ao Wind Farm.

In the video, Fang rode a scooter on Around-the-Island Road. She said, "Here is the same sunny weather as Kenting, which I dreamt of at 18.

At nightfall, Fang also arrived at Changjiang’ao Wind Farm. To Fang, the rotating windmills in the blazing sunset are a natural setting of an idol drama prepared for lovebirds.

In the evening, she had a chance encounter with “Sea Sparkles.” The fluorescent waves crashed in layers, like a group of “Smurfs” hailing her arrival.

Netizens who watched the video got excited and left comments, "Pingtan is really gorgeous." "I really feel like going there, I want to see “Sea Sparkles." "My favorite blogger is at my favorite place."

In Pingtan, “Sea Sparkles” often come in their best, and you’ll surely admire their glamour. As Fang said, “if you’re “allergic” to romance, Pingtan will tell you to shed off your defense and go after the “stars” today.”
