In Pingtan, sea farmers are busy harvesting and drying kelp on the beach near Jianxin Village. Arrayed neatly, they ensure the kelp is sunned evenly. This year, the area of kelp farming in Pingtan is about 20,000 mu (3,294.74 acres) with an estimated output of 200,000 tons, and the market price is higher than in previous years.
