Aoqian Taiwan-themed Town, a shopping mall for Taiwan-imported commodities in Pingtan, recently received a makeover and was partially turned into a playground. Pingtan is the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan as well as a rising international tourism island in China.

The reporters from Pingtan CMC visited to unveil the mystery of each amusement facility.

The first stop is the indoor karting hall. “Our indoor karting circuit covers an area of 600 square meters, spacious enough for grown-ups and children,” introduced Zeng Yan, a staff worker at the karting hall.

Next to the karting hall is an amusement park. Children have a lot of fun with slides, climbing nets, and interactive projectors. For example, the interactive ball uses real-time video image recognition sensing technology to project the virtual and real interactive animation games on the big screen, creating a VR interactive interface. Besides, there are independent areas for toys, trampolines, and adventure games.

The occurrence of “Sea Sparkles” – Pingtan’s iconic marine creature landscape wins the hearts of a large audience. Follow the guidance of the staff and come to the “Sea Sparkles” Experience Hall. Watch a 5-minute cartoon video on what are “Sea Sparkles” and “Where can you see “Sea Sparkle” in Pingtan before being immersed in the all-weather fantasy.

You can hear seawater crashing on the beach. What's even more amazing is that every footprint on the floor shows blue fluorescence for a few seconds, as if encountering “Sea Sparkles” on the sea. "Not only the beach, the sound of wind and waves, but also the romantic 'blue footprints' become vivid. The spectacular "Sea Sparkles" is displayed through a combination of visual and audio effects, the spectacular “Sea Sparkles” is displayed. We are all fascinated," Ms. Li, a tourist said.

Performers and holographic light and shadow combined gives visitors an immersive experience.

The Magic Theater is a recommended hi-tech feature. The theater adopts multi-media technologies such as three-dimension, special effects, animation, and holographic imaging to integrate the real scenes with virtual fairyland. The story features ancient Chinese mythology – A Tale of the Sun and the Moon. It revolves around a couple Dajian and Shuishe at the foot of Mountain Ali in Taiwan. To rescue the sun and the moon who are trapped at the bottom of a pool by magic. They work on cultivating their vital energy to combat two evil dragons. Finally, the two dragons are slain while the couple also sacrifices their own lives, pulling up the moon and the sun. They incarnate two mountains guarding the pool and the sun illuminates all things again. Many spectators were touched on site. “The theater is magical,” said Ms. Huang, a local citizen.

According to Zeng Yan, the Flying Cinema is still under construction. After the completion, the 5D dome screen and suspended seats will allow tourists to enjoy the landscapes of Taiwan Island and experience high-speed dives and free fall thrills.

The retro street is a favorite for shutterbugs. Specialty shops, old-fashioned photo studios, vintage light boards, and other retro decorations remind tourists of the period of the Republic of China. “Everywhere is a photo spot. What’s more, it’s free,” said Lin Yun, a local citizen.

The gigantic ring-shaped fish tank is eye-catching. Walking around, you can play with the fish through the transparent glass and unlock the veil of the mysterious ocean. The lights in the circular cylinder flicker, like stars in the deep sea, illuminating the fish. It’s beautiful,” said Ms. Zhou, a tourist.

Many parents took the opportunity to expand the knowledge of their children. ”Look, do you know these fish? They are called scavengers, also known as garbage fish. They got the name because they like to consume the residual feeds and sewage in the aquarium, which purifies the water,” explained Weng Guoying, a parent to her child.

At nightfall, a dazzling light and shadow show was put on. The realistic naked-eye 3D giant screen ignites the atmosphere of the night. The strong visual impact drew a perfect end to the journey. “I spent the day here. There is an array of Taiwan-imported commodities and a wealth of recreational facilities,” the tourist Ms. Wu praised.
