Themed “Knowledge Pursuit, Ambition Setting, and Self-cultivation,” the lecture provided insights into why we seek knowledge and its values as an instrument in life in the modern era. The professor said: “In traditional culture, knowledge pursuit, ambition setting, and self-cultivation are closely-related. Exams are not the only purpose of pursuing knowledge.
As a brand program of the Cross-Straits Center of Guoxue, the lecture has been held for 43 sessions. The lecture is also an extension of school teaching. Shi Mingze, a sophomore student at Pingtan Hanying Middle School, said that he realized that the process of pursuing knowledge teaches us how to be a man and be a better man.
Wang expressed that the Center is a good platform for academic exchanges and communication between scholars and youngsters. More importantly, it gathers the strength of scholars from across the Straits, promotes cross-Straits exchanges, and deepens mutual understanding and recognition.
