Pingtan International Performing Arts Center started its trial operation and invited the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra to stage a symphony concert on the evening of May 28, bringing an unforgettable evening of symphonic fusion of Chinese and Western classics on Pingtan Island. Pingtan is the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan and a rising international tourism island in China.

The ensemble returned on stage and performed three encores the same evening to the passionate reception and request of the audience.

The top ten players and bands from the “Star Nest Program” across the country were invited to perform live for two days on May 28 at the scenic Tannan Bay of Pingtan. Original songs, rock music with rhythmic beats, and soulful ballads took turns to perform, attracting numerous tourists.

The first concert of the new album of Yinmin Zhucheng, a new-generation Chinese singer was being live at 4 pm on May 28 at the Black Reef Music Hall of Pingtan. The operator of the music hall expressed that they hope to make the hall an incubator for young talented independent musicians from which their dreams take off.

Indie musicians organized a music party at the Longwangtou Bathing Beach on May 29, bringing the island a musical odyssey that appeases the heart.

These activities are just a miniature of Pingtan's efforts to build itself into a jolly island featuring music and art. Since 2021, Pingtan has housed a chorus of exciting cross-Straits concerts.

Nowadays, Pingtan is stepping up its endeavor to build a number of projects such as an industrial park for film and television music and a music cultural creative base, introduce premium performances like classics concerts and stage plays, and create carnivals for music, art, and animation.
