Pingtan, a rising international tourism island off E China's Fujian province, kicked off an action-packed weekend at the new Longwangtou 3x3 Basketball Park, where 175 intense games took place.

As a top inter-university three-on-three basketball match in Fujian Province, the event brought together teams from CUBA (China University Basketball Association), including Xiamen University’s men's basketball team, Huaqiao University’s men's basketball team, Jimei University’s men's basketball team, and Fuzhou University’s men's basketball team.

Participants including athletes and referees were impressed with the superior facilities and beautiful surroundings. "It is the most beautiful venue where we have ever hosted. These athletes are the best in the province,” said Hu Wei, secretary of the Basketball Branch of the Fujian Provincial Sports Association for College Students.

With the success of the game, more brand events are expected in Pingtan. Wu Guining, an official from the Fujian University Sports Association noted that the finals of the three-on-three basketball game for Chinese university students will be held in Pingtan. If possible, it will also introduce the Asian and the World university basketball tournaments, contributing to turning Pingtan into a tourist destination featuring sports.
