Pingtan International City Circuit finally entered its engineering design phase prompting the birth of China's first smart lake circuit and the longest street circuit.

Located by the Ruyi Lake in the Jinjing area, the Circuit was designed by Yao Qiming, a professor at Tongji University, and his team. A team with the only track designer licensed by the FIA in Asia.

According to Yao, Pingtan International City Track is a 4.507-km circuit that runs at a maximum speed of 265.25 km/ph. The track has 17 turns that stretch over a 3 large-radius existing road. At a radius of 359.99 meters and a length of 842.08 meters, theRuyi Curve is the wildest and most challenging point on the track. The race circuit combined 3 sets of corners connecting 6 existing roads in the city, taking the shape of an "∞" symbolizing a future of infinite possibilities.

Professor Yao added that the highlight of the race track is its futuristic smart features. "Our team has incorporated the most cutting-edge scientific racing features of the recent years in the FIA Future City Race. The so-called smart track comes with various features like digital sentinel, smart pre-warnings, smart evaluation, unmanned vehicle test system powered by AI and big data; exploring a future of race tracks and urban roads supported by the "Automotive-Road-Cloud" platform.

Upon completion, Pingtan shall be the venue of China's GT Championship and the FIA F4 China Championship.
