1-billion-yuan IPv6 project to land in Pingtan

Pingtan signed an IPv6 project with a planned investment of 1 billion yuan on July 14. Pingtan is the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan. It is moving fast to build an emerging industrial park.

Internet Protocol version 6 is the most recent version of the Internet Protocol, the communications protocol that provides an identification and location system for computers on networks and routes traffic across the Internet. As stipulated in the agreement, the project includes an industrial park where R&D on IPv6 products, the transformation of sci-tech achievements, and industrial innovation services will take place. An operation and exhibition center, a testing and authentication center, and an application and promotion center will be erected.

The collaborator Fujian Pingtan Ruiqian Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in AI software development, focusing on smart cities and the Internet of Things. Shan Zuanfeng, chairman of the company, said that it will actively carry out innovations on IPv6-based intelligent operation and maintenance system and network business model and drive the industrialization of IPv6 plus network products.
