There is a rugged sea-eroded landform along the coast called “East China Sea Wonderland” at the southern foot of Mount Wangye in Pingtan, E China’s Fujian province. Thousands of years of tireless coastal erosion formed magnificent rock cliffs. The ingenious rocks and gigantic reefs are fascinating to behold… Recently, Chinese National Geography released a promotional video for the aerial photography of the “East China Sea Wonderland on its official social media platforms WeChat and Weibo.

The video received numerous likes and comments from netizens. One netizen @够运 commented, “The most well-known of the East China Sea Wonderland landscapes is the ‘Celestial Well,’ a natural sea cave. There are two openings on the bottom leading to the sea. At high tide, the waves crash into it, stirring up spectacular whitecap and making a thunderous roar.

Legends say that Tieguaili, one of the Eight Immortals of Chinese folklore, dug the well to get water to quench his thirst. But since the well was so close to the Dragon King's palace, he disturbed the Dragon King and the Earth God. And a battle between the Gods ensued. Finally, Tieguaili was defeated.

Standing on the observation deck and caressed by the gentle sea breeze, you can feel the grandeur of the ocean. Remember to capture the moment with your camera.
