The 7^th “Ocean Cup” China (Pingtan) International Cycling Carnival wrapped up on September 18 in Pingtan, a rising international tourism island off E China’s Fujian province. The event drew over 2,000 cyclists from 22 countries and regions which was covered live and witnessed by more than 17 million audiences.

Xu Zhaoliang from Novatec-Merida came in first with a record of 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 2 seconds in the Men's Elite Road Cycling category. While Pingtan's first continental team – Pingtan International Tourism Island Continental Team, claimed the championship for the Men's Elite Road Cycling Team, another glory since the team's cycling expedition at Tour of Qinghai Lake.

The cycling carnival comes with a comprehensive travel package for all -China's most scenic island drive, Pingtan's Around-the-Island Road, which is truly a spectacular sight to marvel at; a food festival that offers a plethora of glorious island fare; campsite by the beach under the starry sky.

The competition was co-hosted by the China Cycling Association, the Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Fujian Provincial Sports Administration, and the Fujian Media Group.

In recent years, Pingtan has hosted high-profile international sports events and won the title of “Top 10 Sports Tourism Destination in China” for five consecutive years.
