Pingtan receives 600,000 tourists over National Day holiday

Pingtan, a rising international tourism island off E China's Fujian province, received close to 600,000 tourists and raked in 341.59 million yuan over the National Day holiday, according to sources from the Tourism, Culture, and Sports Bureauof Pingtan.

Enjoying a stunning audiovisual extravaganza at Pingtan International Performing Arts Center, basking in the magical afterglow by the beach, and going for a thrilling kart ride...Pingtan's diverse tourism offerings have brought tourists from over the country. Pingtan is still a top destination for family and road trip travelers.

“We have been here since September 30. We are  reluctant to leave.” On October 4, Ruan Shihui from southwest Sichuan province took her family aboard Haitan No.1 cruise ship for the island sunset.

During this period, snaking queues formed at tourist attractions and hotel check-in counters. "On the second day, we reached visitor quota and had to increase our staffing for traffic control," said Yu Jian, director of the Tourist Service Center of Tannan Bay Scenic Area.
