Project integrating offshore wind power and aquaculture signed in Pingtan

Pingtan signed a contract to integrate offshore wind power and aquaculture on October 13. Pingtan Island is the largest island of E China’s Fujian province.

The project will be jointly invested and built by the Fujian branch of Beijing Tianrun New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. and Xiamen CWS Survey and Design Co., Ltd. Beijing Tianrun will be responsible for the construction of pile foundations for aquaculture, marine environment surveys, the input of aquaculture cage, bottom cable laying, and follow-up scientific research. Xiamen CWS Survey and Design Co., Ltd. will take charge of sea farming, stress test for pile foundations, anti-wave experimentation on net cages, anti-corrosion test for marine equipment, and breeding equipment upgrades.

“The project aims to achieve ecological and economic benefits and provide technical support for promoting sea farming in offshore wind farms,” said an official from the Investment Promotion Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone.
