Drama filmed in Pingtan premieres on state TV

Pingtan, an island off Fujian, takes the roles of an investor and producer where the drama was filmed.
Set in China’s reform and opening-up initiated in the 1970s, it depicts the struggle of the ethnic minority as they forge a path toward life betterment. Meanwhile, it tells the transformation of rural and urban areas.
The show was shot at the Taiwan-themed Film and TV Base in Pingtan, one of the few such bases on the mainland.
Pingtan is building itself into an international tourist destination and developing its film and TV industry. “The show will further raise Pingtan's profile and lure more film investors to the island. The beautiful scenery in the films and TV shows is sure to beckon more visitors,” said a staff worker from Pingtan Film and Television Service Center Co., Ltd.
