Pingtan's JD collaborative warehouse comes together with the multinational retailer Walmart for cross-border e-commerce delivery in Pingtan, a rising international tourism island off southeast China's Fujian province. The move marks another milestone for the free trade zone. With the Walmart applet on WeChat, a popular instant messaging app in China,  consumers can place orders of imported commodities such as cosmetics, household supplies, and spirits that will be delivered nationwide from Pingtan.

“Commodities worth over 100 million yuan have been in storage in Pingtan over the past two weeks,” said Ding Changbao, chairman of Fujian Lanhe Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.

Currently, Walmart has only worked with two warehouses in cross-border business in China, i.e., Nansha Bonded Warehouse in Guangzhou and Pingtan’s JD Collaborative Warehouse.

Ding introduced that facilitated customs clearance and an array of preferential policies of Pingtan beckons the retail giant.

As a service provider of JD.com’s international platform, Pingtan’s JD collaborative warehouse has achieved the highest growth rate nationwide since its opening in February this year.
