When it’s sunny, the sea around Dalian Islet melts into the sky. Oysters called “milk of the sea” are cultivated here. Over time, the mollusk hidden in the hard shell obtains nourishment from the sea and grows. According to Guo Weiyi, head of Sherengong Village, last summer, the village delved into oyster farming. “Last October, we installed the floating buckets at the breeding area. In March, we spawned the larvae. Eight months later, the oysters were mature. It indicates Dalian is an ideal place for breeding oysters.”
