Cultural tourism projects boom in Pingtan

Workers were racing against time to meet the deadline forKeqiutou Ruins Museum on Feb. 10 in Pingtan, a rising international tourism island off E China’s Fujian province. The museum is a Fujian provincial key project in 2023.

Other provincial key projects include Pingtan Cultural and Sports Sci-Tech Industrial Park and Pingtan Phoenix Bay Scenic Area. The two projects are in the planning.

Chen Shurui, chairman of Pingtan Automobile Culture Development Co., Ltd and general manager of Pingtan Cultural Tourism Investment Development Co., Ltd., said Pingtan Cultural and Sports Sci-Tech Industrial Park is a comprehensive industrial park. Autosport is the highlight.

Keqiutou Archaeological Ruins Park-Keqiutou Ruins Museum

Keqiutou Archaeological Ruins Museum covers an area of 6,000 square meters. The museum's design features a wave-like structure that harmoniously blends in with the island's natural scenery, promising visitors a unique and immersive experience.

Pingtan Phoenix Bay Scenic Area

Located on the southern shores, the Pingtan Phoenix Bay, branded as the destination for trendy lifestyle and romance, is estimated at 850 million yuan and 7 years to complete. The scenic area draws inspiration from its indigenous "coastal resident," the horseshoe crab.

Pingtan Cultural Sports Sci-Tech Industrial Park

With an aggregated investment of 4 billion yuan, the project willbe developed in two phases. The first phase includes an international circuit for new energy automobiles, a service center, a hotel, and an industrial park. The second phase involves residences, a racing academy, an R&D and marketing center for spare parts, and a smart international community.
