Fujian Lanhe Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. recently announced that Pingtan JD Collaborative Warehouse has become the sole service provider for Walmart China's cross-border business, making Pingtan port the only service port for Walmart China's cross-border business. Located in Pingtan International Tourism Island, which is a free trade zone and the closest place on the mainland to the island of Taiwan, Pingtan JD Collaborative Warehouse is operated by Fujian Lanhe Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of Pingtan-Taiwan Logistics Co., Ltd.
The partnership between Pingtan JD Collaborative Warehouse and Walmart China was officially formed last October, and since then, the warehouse has been providing Walmart's e-commerce customers with full-category services, from beauty and personal care products to 3C products and more. According to Chen Xiaowen, deputy general manager of Fujian Lanhe Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., consumers can place orders for their desired products through the Walmart WeChat mini-program's "Global Goodies" section, which will then be packed and shipped from the Pingtan warehouse and delivered to their doorstep.
In recent years, Pingtan has implemented policies for cross-border e-commerce incentives, enabling companies to enhance logistics efficiency and transportation capacity, thereby facilitating Pingtan Port's expansion into a wider market. As a result, Walmart China has recognized the customs clearance and shipping efficiency in Pingtan, according to Chen.
Pingtan JD Collaborative Warehouse covers an area of over 9,000 square meters and mainly deals in imported goods such as beauty and healthcare products, and maternal and child products. Since its opening in March 2022, the daily volume of Pingtan JD Collaborative Warehouse has increased from several hundred parcels to over 8,000, with expected daily normal operation of 10,000 parcels in June.
Fujian Lanhe Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. also plans to start cooperation with a new e-commerce platform at the end of April, hoping to grow its industry bigger and stronger by serving large platforms well, according to Chen Xiaowen.
